The Church: The City of the Great King

Text: Psalm 48

In today’s text, the psalmist describes several characteristics of the Church, beginning with the Church gathered on Mt. Zion from the times of the Old Testament, but extending to the contemporary Church, the new Mt. Zion which is wherever God’s people gather to worship. Despite the concerns we may have as we look at current conditions in our nation and the world, the future of the Church is secure because it is our God who firmly establishes it.
